Why Palm Bay

Palm Bay is a city in Florida’s Brevard County. It is the county seat of Brevard County and is located northeast of Orlando, south of Cape Canaveral, and north of Cocoa Beach. The population was approximately 118,000 people as of 2021.  The city is best known for its proximity to the Kennedy Space Center and Patrick Air Force Base.

Palm Bay was founded in 1925 as a land development named Palm Bay Heights, by Harold Stirling Vanderbilt. He sold parcels of property along what is now Astronaut Boulevard. The area was renamed Palm Bay in 1943.

Palm Bay is part of the Palm Bay–Melbourne–Titusville Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Brevard County and had an estimated 2017 population of over 580,000 people. The city has a total area of over 50 square miles (130 km²), of which over 41 square miles (106 km²) island and the remainder is water.

The city’s climate is classified as humid subtropical. Summers are hot and humid, with average high temperatures of 91°F (33°C) in July and August. Winters are mild, with average high temperatures of 71°F (22°C) in January. The record high temperature is 103 °F (39 °C), and the record low is 18 °F (−28 °C).

The city has many restaurants which serve everything from sushi to pizza! There are also a variety of shopping areas, including the Palm Bay Plaza and palm bay Landing. The city is also home to many beautiful parks, nature preserves, and lakes.

Neighborhoods

-Palm Bay Heights: This neighborhood is located in the northeast area of Palm Bay. It is close to the Kennedy Space Center and Patrick Air Force Base. The homes in this neighborhood are large and luxurious, and many have waterfront views.

-Suntree: This upscale neighborhood is located in the northwest area of Palm Bay. It features beautiful homes with spacious yards and golf course views. The neighborhood has its own country club and golf course, as well as a large community center with tennis courts, pools, parks, and jogging trails. Many homes also have palm trees growing in their front yards!

-Cocoa: This area of Palm Bay is located on the Indian River Lagoon between downtown palm bay and Suntree. It is great for fishing and boating, with many marinas in the area. The main road through this neighborhood is palm bay road, which has beautiful water views along both sides of the street!

-West palm Bay: This area includes all of the palm bay west of I95. It was developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The homes in this area are mostly ranch-style, and many have large yards. There are also a few shopping areas in this neighborhood, including palm bay Square and palm bay Village.

-South palm bay: This area is located south of Palm Bay road. It was developed in the 1980s and 1990s when many condos were built in this neighborhood. The homes in South palm bay are smaller than those in other parts of palm bay, but there are plenty of amenities nearby!

-Satellite Beach: This coastal community is southeast of palm bay and is known for its beautiful beaches. Homes in this neighborhood are usually smaller, but many have ocean views!

-Malabar: This neighborhood is located in palm bay’s southwest area. It is mostly residential, with a few small shopping areas and parks scattered throughout the community. The homes here were built during palm bay’s boom years of the 1980s and early 1990s.
