Why Largo

Largo was originally founded in 1947 to house employees of nearby Mcquire Air Force Base, which eventually became a joint base with the Coast Guard before it closed several years ago. Currently, there are still some military personnel living in Largo because of Macdill Airforce Base that is also located close by in Tampa.

The city of Largo has a population of about 84,000 people. While it is not the largest city in Florida, it still offers plenty in terms of amenities and things to do. There are several parks located throughout Largo, as well as a zoo, and plenty of other recreational areas. The city is also home to the Largo Cultural Center which offers several different art exhibits throughout the year. In addition, there are many fine restaurants found in downtown Largo that offer a nice variety for visitors to enjoy while they are on vacation or here on business.

Largo’s proximity to both Tampa and St. Petersburg also makes it a great place to live. These larger cities offer even more in terms of culture, dining, and shopping experiences. Largo is also home to several corporations, including Raymond James Financial and Tech Data Corporation, which employ many people who work in the area.

Whether you are here on vacation or for business, there are plenty of things to do throughout the city. The best place to start is downtown Largo at City Center Park and Performing Arts Center. Here you can enjoy the great restaurants, go shopping in one of many fine stores, or even see a show at Largo Cultural Center.

Largo has a large selection of public and private schools, both elementary and high school levels. There are plenty of options for both English language learners as well as children with special needs or disabilities. There are also many different religious affiliations represented throughout the district.

Neighborhoods

Large homes for sale are located all over the city, but there is a large concentration in South Largo. This area of town has many homes that were built during the ’50s and ’60s, with plenty of charm to spare.

For more modern conveniences, you may want to check out North Largo. Here you will find homes built after the ’70s, along with all of the modern amenities that go along.

If you are looking for a more rural setting, then East Largo may be the right place for you. This area is filled with spacious homes on large plots of land. If you are looking to get away from all of the hustle and bustle, then East Largo may be a good option, as it is located furthest away from the city center.

West Largo is the most recent addition to the city, and as such it offers a mix of older and newer homes for sale. This area has been growing rapidly in recent years, making it a great place to invest in real estate.
