Why Clermont
Clermont is a city in Central Florida, United States. It is part of the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 42,482 at the 2021 census. Clermont’s history dates back to 1883 when it was first established as “Langley”, and later renamed after Clermont County, Ohio, by railroad officials on July 9th, 1884. The town was founded by William Haines Hall who then sold his land to various settlers looking for homes in central Florida.
It has a humid subtropical climate with hot and humid summers and mild winters. The city lies in the Florida Heartland of central Florida about southeast of Orlando on Lake Minneola. Clermont attracts many tourists throughout the year who play golf at one of the many golf courses in the area, visit one of the theme parks located within a short drive from the city, or enjoy fishing on Lake Minneola. It is one of three observation towers in Florida that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
